How many stops to plan.

A common question is about how many stops you should plan for each day?

Obviously that varies. We are all different, and during summer we have 24 hour daylight, while in December we have less than 4 hours.  During the summer I have taken 12 fantastic stops in the Golden Circle alone. For some people the magic number is 4 stops.

Planning to take south coast to glacier lagoon and back to Reykjavík in one day guarantees that you will miss out on many amazing places.

When planning amount of stops take into count

1. age 2. fitness of the weakest one in the group. 3. Distance between stops. 4. Are you bringing lunch or will you stop at restaurants. 5. co-ordinate bathroom stops. 6. Are you aiming to only add check to each stop and get couple of pictures or are you travelling to take in the nature and enjoy? The latter obviously makes the stops longer, but they also make your day so much better. 7. Are you going to sign one driver or will you add more? Driving long distances can be tiresome and tired drivers are the most dangerous ones. 8. www.vedur.is will tell you everything about the weather in the area you are travelling through. Don’t skip this one!

When planning your trip to Iceland..

During my travels around Iceland I have met hundreds of people traveling that did not do the minimum research to be able to travel around Iceland safely. There are so many things you need to know. What many of you call driving in snow, can be very different to driving in snow on ice, in strong winds in Iceland which is very common situation. Or driving on icy roads in a blizzard with only few meters view out of the window. In my blogs I will try to give you as many tips as possible.

What we don’t do in Iceland..EVER

-Offroad driving

-Litter

-Walk on moss

-Buy water

-Try to control others in traffic

-Hate speach. Don’t. We are all equals.
